The Beautiful Architecture of Seville, Spain
Seville is one of Spain’s hidden gems. The city exudes Spanish charm, tradition and culture. It’s famous for the Flamenco nightlife and streets adorned with orange blossoms. Plus, the architecture is perhaps the most beautiful in the country. Seville features Baroque churches, Gothic cathedrals, medieval streets and Mudéjar palaces. You can experience some of this architecture and more with a walking tour of the Via da Plata – the longest pilgrim route in Spain. The Via da Plata starts in Andalucia, Seville and runs north through Zamora, Extremadura, Salamanca and Castilla y Leon.
Copenhagen – The Capital of Denmark
Copenhagen is said to be one of the most livable cities in the world. It’s also one of the top must-see European destinations. One of the biggest draws for Copenhagen is its beautiful waterways. The city is surrounded by the sea and dubbed the “Venice of the North” by some. However, even with all the water, it’s still a great place for cycling. There are even roads designed and dedicated to cyclers. But, if you’re not into bike riding, you could take a walk through one of the lush parks, such as the unique and wondrous Tivoli Gardens in the middle of the city.
World-class cuisine can also be found all around Copenhagen. It’s home to the world famous Danish Pastries, Smørrebrød and more than 15 Michelin Star restaurants, including Noma – the world’s best restaurant. Copenhagen is also known for its fashion, design and wide selection of shops. Beautiful architecture is another major draw in Copenhagen. This is evident in the ancient castles, the colourful homes of Nyhavn, the opera house, and even the oldest amusement park in the world – Bakken. Better yet, the city is said to have the nicest airport in the world, as well.
The Ancient City of Lisbon
Like Copenhagen, Lisbon is also a capital city. It’s the capital of and largest city in Portugal. Not to mention, it’s one of the oldest cities in the world. This is reflected in its cobblestone streets, white-domed cathedrals and ancient ruins. Lisbon’s architecture and lovely landscapes also make it one of the most photogenic cities in Europe. It overlooks the Tagus River or Rio Tejo and is lined with scenic hillsides. The seaside location also makes it the perfect place to enjoy some fresh seafood. However, if you’re looking for something different or sweet, you might find it at the Jardim da Praça do Império (the biggest plaza in Europe) or the Pasteis de Belem Bakery.
